The Coffee Break team of language experts, teachers and native speakers is led by linguist and educator Mark Pentleton. Since then weve built a network of podcasts and in 2014 we delivered. Millions of learners have built their confidence in a language or taken up a new language using the friendly, accessible and successful method, effectively transforming their down time into "do time". In 2006 I set up Radio Lingua as the home of our nascent podcast Coffee Break Spanish. Its first podcast, Coffee Break Spanish, was released on 18 October. Our overworked guest tries the Swedish practice of &039 Fika&039 – taking short coffee breaks throughout the work day. Radio Lingua was founded in 2006 by Mark Pentleton, a former teacher of French and Spanish.

Consistently at the top of the educational podcast charts, the courses have been recognised through numerous awards, including European Professional Podcast of the Year and the European Award for Languages and have featured in The New York Times, the Guardian and on the BBC. A short break does more than just fuel our bodies, it strengthens our minds.
Since then, the Coffee Break courses – which are now available in French, Italian, German, Spanish, Chinese, Swedish and English – have become immensely popular. Soon, language learners around the world were building their language skills with the Coffee Break Languages podcasts and online courses. Its a special episode of the Zinc Coffee Break podcast this week as Taralouise talks to her stepmum Lynne McSherry - salon owner and hairdressing educator.
